Cook Italian brand launches on Facebook, with fun ‘Food Face’ activity.
6th December 2011
This week we launched Italian food brand ‘Cook Italian’ on Facebook. The Facebook activity works alongside a national press campaign, retailer media including in store activity, and online media campaign to launch the Cook Italian brand in the UK.
Cook Italian is a new range of branded genuine Italian tomato products, Italian pastas & sauces; they search out the very best genuine Italian ingredients and bring them to consumer’s kitchen cupboards. LDH La Doria, who is the leading UK Private Label supplier of canned tomato products and dried pasta to the major UK supermarkets, has developed the brand.
This is a significant move into branded products and Facebook gives Cook Italian the perfect platform to connect with consumers, involve them in their launch, and tell the Cook Italian story.
Getting consumers involved – Food Face Gallery
Involvement is a key aim, and the Cook Italian Facebook page gives users the opportunity to create their own ‘Food Face’ on a plate and share it with the world. This encourages mums and their kids to bring out Italian flair and their creative juices flowing, whilst having fun with the brand and their products. The idea also builds on the ‘Win a face plate’ promotion being advertised in the national press and online.
It’s a simple and intuitive process, using Facebook for what it’s best at – and using the platform’s inbuilt features – uploading pictures, sharing and liking.
Anyone can add a Food Face to the Facebook Gallery by uploading their food face photo to the Cook Italian Wall, and they can share each gallery entry within their own networks, simply by liking the photo.
The Facebook profile features range information, and links back to the Cook Italian website for further product information, recipes, and to enter the Win a Face Plate Prize Draw.
Exclusive Facebook incentives
Finally, there is a monthly exclusive Facebook prize draw, to win a Cook Italian Hamper containing lots of lovely Cook Italian ingredients!
Amanda Orchard, marketing manger at LDH comments, ‘We’re really excited to be launching Cook Italian on Facebook - it gives us a platform to build dialogue and connect with our consumers at this key time for the Cook Italian brand. We’re really looking forward to seeing the fabulous creations that are added to our gallery too.’
The Facebook campaign runs from December to April 2012 at facebook.com/CookItalianUK
